cardboard signs There is no handbook for those who suddenly find themselves on the street without food or shelter. However, we often see those cardboard signs held up, detailing their life in the fewest words possible. Try reading them before making your own. All must read threads are posted inside.
in the headlines We might wear newspaper for insulation during the cold nights, but thats doesn't mean we don't read the headlines. Keep updated on society, even if it's forgotten you.

salvation army Also known as the Robin Hood store, it buys from the rich and sells to the poor. This is the place to buy life upgrades, account accessories, etc. Moderator: Admin

fate's planbook (3 sub-boards) Some say that you create your own fate, while others believe they have a chosen path. Whatever your destiny, fates will be planning it here.
West Crown Bridge Created as a floodway, the great ditch scarring the city has been beautified by church groups and school parties. Lush trees, small ponds, walking and bike paths run along it an effort to make it seem like a strange park. But in the man-made gully scamper the rats of society, particularly under West Crown Bridge. Trash cans burn with fire in the cold months and camps are set up under the shelter of the bridge's span. Rarely does anyone from their heavenly perch look down on the grime festering below.

Griffin Park Although it lacks the cultured fame of New York's Central Park, Griffin is just as lovely. Great expanses of lush grass for picnics. Trails for runners, bikers, and roller skaters that wind elegantly through meadows and miniature forests. It seems a country escape to the city folk. It's also a nice place to make camp every now and then. Cops are quick to flush you out during the day, but the nights are left to you and any foolish gang wanna be from the North.
Street Corners Although North Paladine police are quick to shoo away the dirty scoundrels who wander out of South, street corners in North are always a big haul. Strangely, some lines of the bus run into the North Side to accomadate the working class who serve their spoiled patrons. If you keep to the bus stops, it's less likely you'll get picked up or kicked out.

South Paladine
Danika's Shelter When a seven year old girl died outside a private school in North Paladine, the city mourned. In her honor, they built a children's shelter on the border between North and South. In the beginning, no children went for fear of being shoved in a foster home. Slowly though, more and more children have gone. Free food, good beds, and decent toys for the ones who attend the shelter's school and have a guardian of some kind. A type of loose group home, you might say.

Dawson's (1 sub-board) Dawson's is a lower class, run down old bar that serves crappy alcohol. This is a great, and cheap, place to grab a bite to eat and perhaps a cold one while you're at it. They don't give hand-outs, and they don't run tabs. The owner keeps a shotgun handy and a bat handier. His son runs small time, organized fights in the bar's cellar. As long as he gets a piece of the dough passed around, he'll allow anything to enter the ring.

Thrift Store It might once have had a name, but now it is simply "the thrift store". It doesn't exactly have an over abundance of anything, but it's enough for the less fortunate to pick from if they must. It's been stolen from enough times that bars are installed in the windows, cameras catch every angle twice, and a gun as well as a panic button is hidden under the counter. Occasionally kind people stand outside the store on chilly nights and offer free soup and bread to the homeless; but the portions are never that hefty.
South Hospital Injured? Sick? Too bad. You might as well pack it up and take it somewhere else. This is an old run down hospital crammed into the south side of Paladine. All the equipment is outdated, and all the doctors have a sadistic streak about them. The only thing about this hospital, is it's relatively cheap... Now what the hell kind of hospital is cheap? Children should be wary of social workers.

Amityville Apartments This is a shabby, run down apartment building affectionately called 'Amityville'. It's rat infested, rotting, and cockroaches crawl into your mouth as you sleep on moth eaten matresses. Thinking about complaining to the super? Tough luck. He never comes here unless it's to beat you down for rent.

Warehouse District Although the majority of the warehouses are filled and protected by the elite business men of Paladine, many are abandoned. Some are broken into by rich tweens looking for a thrill, while others are a dumping ground for dirty deeds.

Paladine, USA
a fictional big city on the east coast
July; Summer beginnings
Fresh out of the gate and summer is already scorching. Hitting between 95 and 110, the city melts and the stink of humanity clogs the air in all districts. North Paladine seems deserted of its usual foot traffic as the middle and upper classes hide away in their air conditioned homes or offices. Inappropriate public exposure is at an all time high. subject to change August 17th
