Chapter One; The Dark Lord's Rise to Power
After Albus Dumbledore's death during Harry Potter's sixth year at Hogwarts, he had swore to continue the duties that the headmaster had set out to do; destroy the other horcruxes to bring Voldemort's threat to an end. Ron and Hermione told Harry that he wasn't going to do it alone, that they were coming with him. Considering the small fact that he had lost almost everybody he cared about in his life, he would take them for the emotional support, and protect him with his life. One would think this and hope that it had happened, when reality is a cold and cruel place. Things that you hope for, or think are going to happen, generally don't occur, or go the other way around. In reality, Harry left on his own, taking the few possessions that he had owned with him. The next couple of weeks, he had disappeared. His name, and his physical being dropped off the face of the planet; leaving his friends worried, and his enemies as happy as they could possibly be.
In the month of July, the same month where Harry was supposed to have his seventeenth birthday, Voldemort had learned that Harry had disappeared. To him, this was ecstatic news, yet it was disappointing because he hadn't been able to kill the boy himself. That didn't stop him from celebrating by rising back to power for the third time, ruling the wizarding and muggle community with fear, and wrath. No mercy was granted as he killed countless witches, wizards and muggles a like. Months passed of nothing but bloodshed, and others hiding in fear; awaiting September first. They could send their kids off to Hogwarts, only hoping that his touch had not penetrated the school under the staff's supervision.
This was not so. Ron, Hermione and the other students attending Hogwarts had arrived to find that the place was flooded with death eaters; members of the Dark Lord's army. Only the Slytherin's seemed to be quite happy about this, parading along like they owned the place. And indeed they did. While death eaters roamed the school, taught classes and gave orders, the house of Salazar Slytherin reigned supreme over the others. For punishments, they got none. They received the highest praise, and always got house points awarded to them. The other houses got points deducted if they did something better then a Slytherin student. For quidditch matches, Slytherin always won.
The other students grew outraged with this display of treatment, thinking they had no chance to succeed in the real world if Slytherin got everything. They gathered up in small groups, selecting only a handful of students to represent that group at meetings. These meetings were for ways to run the death eaters out of Hogwarts, and regain their old school structure back. Meetings were held for this nameless army of students, and some faculty and staff who were allowed to remain because they didn't seem like much of a threat.
Only a month later after these meetings had progressed, they had ceased. Why? The reason being that they had a new headmaster on the premises. One who knew all, and would show no mercy to those who defied him. Lord Voldemort. Why he had appointed himself as Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, along with Minister of Magic was beyond anyone's idea. The students had no chance of holding the large meetings without being caught, and apprehended by somebody that was on the Dark Lord's side of the ball field. He had changed the punishments from detentions, and house point deductions to using the Crutiatus curse on those who were doing things against his orders.
Ron and Hermione suffered the worse of the current school year, holding their values against the Dark Lord, and continuously wishing that Harry would just reappear next to them, and help them fight against him. Yet, this was reality. Wishful thinking would never get them anywhere. Afterall... Action is louder than words.
Voldemort appointed new heads of houses. Bellatrix was in charge of Gryffindor, Fenrir was in charge of Hufflepuff, Lucius of Ravenclaw, and Severus the original head of Slytherin.
Severus Snape knows something that Dark Lord doesn't, and what the others do not.
Be careful who you choose to side with. Both have repercussions.
Do you choose to side with Voldemort, and make sure his reign of terror of lasts a lifetime? Or do you side with Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and others to stop this reign, and begin the realm of peace once more?
